Our Peru Millennium Tour is a journey designed for those who wish to discover Peru's most representative landscapes, cultures, and traditions, traveling from its coastal capital to the mysteries of the Amazon, passing through the deserts, mountains, and cities of this country.

This adventure begins in the city of kings: Lima. A city that represents the Spanish colonial era and the modernity of its waterfront districts. Here you can savor some of the world's best cuisine and discover historic and exciting places. Then, we will head south to the Ica region, known for its sunny climate, its dunes, the charming oasis of Huacachina, and the artisanal wineries where the renowned Peruvian pisco is produced.

Our next stop is Arequipa, known as the "White City," famous for its buildings made of sillar, a white volcanic rock, located near the Misti Volcano. From here, we will visit the Colca Canyon and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Our tour continues in Puno, on the shores of the mythical Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world. Here, you'll meet the indigenous people who inhabit the floating islands of the Uros and experience their living customs and folklore firsthand.

Later, we will arrive in Cusco, "the imperial city," where Andean traditions and colonial heritage intertwine in a cultural coexistence. From its temples and cobblestone streets, we will depart for the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

During our stay in Cusco, we will also explore the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), a unique natural landscape that highlights its vivid colors.

Finally, the trip culminates in Madre de Dios, the heart of the Amazon rainforest, where we will immerse ourselves in an incomparable natural setting. Here, the abundance of flora and fauna will provide us with a true experience of nature.

ITINERARY

DAY 01: “LIMA”

Upon arrival in Lima, whether by plane or car, one of our representatives will greet you with a sign with your name on it for easy identification. You will then be escorted to our tour vehicle, which will comfortably take you to your accommodation. Once at the hotel, you will have time to settle in and relax. The rest of the day is free, ideal for exploring Lima at your own pace and discovering some of its main attractions.

DAY 02: “LIMA - CITY TOUR - WATER CIRCUIT”

At the agreed-upon time on the second day, we will pick up your accommodation to begin this exciting journey. We will begin with a visit to one of Lima's most popular parks: Love Park, an iconic site offering spectacular and romantic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Afterwards, we will head to Huaca Pucllana, a highly significant archaeological site dating back to the pre-Inca period. From outside, our guide will provide fascinating information about the history and cultural significance of this ancient site.

The experience continues with a guided walk through Lima's historic center, where we will appreciate iconic monuments such as the Cathedral, the archaeological site, City Hall, the Archbishop's Palace, and the renowned Convent of San Francisco, famous for its mysterious catacombs.

Later, we will participate in a pisco sour preparation demonstration, where you can also taste this traditional Peruvian drink.

To conclude the day, we will visit the impressive Magic Water Circuit for approximately one hour. There, we will discover its 13 decorative fountains, including the Fountain of Fantasy, famous for its breathtaking water, light, and music show.

DAY 03: “ICA - PARACAS - HUACACHINA TOUR”

On our third day of adventure, we will depart from Lima after enjoying an energizing breakfast that includes freshly brewed coffee, artisan bread, and natural juices made with local fruits.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., we will get ready to head to the Paracas pier. From there, we will begin a boat trip to the impressive Ballestas Islands. During the sea voyage, we will be able to admire a mysterious figure known as "The Candelabra," carved into the side of a coastal hill. Along the way, we will be able to see a variety of marine life: here we will see sea lions basking in the sun, Humboldt penguins gliding through the waves, numerous guano birds, pelicans, and even, with a little luck, dolphins swimming happily in the Pacific waters.

After visiting the Ballestas Islands, we will resume our journey to Ica. There, a special lunch will await us at the "Cultur Pisco" restaurant and vineyard, where we will sample regional cuisine and learn about the traditional wine and pisco production process, culminating with a tasting of these local beverages.

Afterward, we will continue our journey to the renowned Huacachina oasis, a unique place nestled in the middle of the desert, ideal for enjoying exciting activities such as dune buggy tours and sandboarding on its high dunes. This setting also provides the perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable photographs.

Finally, we will embark on the journey to the city of Nazca, where we will spend the night, resting and preparing for the next day's activities.

DAY 04: “NAZCA LINES - TOUR TO AREQUIPA”

Our experience in the Nazca Lines will begin with a transfer to the Ica airfield, a location specially designated for tourist flights. There, we will prepare for an unforgettable experience: a flyover that will allow us to contemplate the enigmatic geoglyphs of the Nazca Desert from above.

Before boarding the plane, we will attend an introductory talk that will provide a general explanation of the origin, symbolism, and main theories surrounding these mysterious ancient figures.

During the flight, you will be able to clearly identify some of the most iconic figures, such as the hummingbird, the monkey, the spider, the condor, the dog, the astronaut, and the whale. These enormous designs, which can only be appreciated from the air, are astonishing in their precision, shape, and scale.

Once the aerial tour is over, we will return to your accommodation so you can rest. Later, we will take the tourist bus to the city of Arequipa, where this fascinating adventure will continue.

DAY 05: “AREQUIPA - COUNTRYSIDE TOUR”

On the fifth day of our adventure, we will pick you up from your accommodation to begin a day of discovery aboard the Mirabus, which will take us to the most important sites in the white city of Arequipa.

The first stop will be the picturesque Yanahuara district, famous for its viewpoint with colonial-style arches. From there, you can enjoy privileged views of the city and the imposing volcanoes that surround it, all while savoring traditional frozen cheese, one of the region's most representative desserts.

Then, we will head to the Carmen Alto viewpoint in the Cayma district, from where you can admire the beautiful Chilina Valley and the picturesque Arequipa countryside.

Our next stop will be Inka Alpaca, a shop where you can observe typical textile fibers up close, admire local handicrafts, and meet llamas and alpacas in a small family zoo.

Later, we will visit the former residence of Manuel García de Carbajal, who is credited with founding the city. There, we will delve deeper into the origins of Arequipa and its significance in the country's history.

We will conclude this enriching experience at the Sabandía windmill, a natural setting ideal for relaxing, taking memorable photographs, or even going horseback riding or ATV riding in the surrounding area.

DAY 06: “AREQUIPA - ON THE ROAD TO THE COLCA CANYON”

On the sixth day of our tour, between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the journey to one of Arequipa's most impressive destinations: the Colca Canyon. Along the way, we will skirt the slopes of the majestic Chachani volcano and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, a protected natural area that shelters a variety of Andean fauna.

We will make a brief stop at Patahuasi, a site known for its unusual rock formations that capture the eye with their whimsical shapes.

Along the way, you will often see herds of llamas and alpacas, as well as extensive bofedales (wetlands) that decorate the altiplano with their unique beauty. The ascent will take us to Patapampa, located at 4,910 m above sea level, where the famous Volcano Viewpoint is located. From this point, you can admire majestic snow-capped peaks, a perfect opportunity to take photos and breathe in the pure Andean air.

We will continue our journey to the peaceful town of Chivay, where you can enjoy lunch with delicious local specialties. Afterward, you will be transferred to your hotel to settle in and rest.

In the afternoon, you will have the option of enjoying a relaxing soak in the nearby hot springs, a perfect ending to a day filled with scenery, altitude, and Andean culture.

DAY 07: “AREQUIPA - CROSS OF THE CONDOR - ROAD TO PUNO”

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up at 6:20 a.m. to begin our next day on our way to Chivay, where we will meet up with the group that will accompany us on this exciting adventure through the Colca Canyon. From there, we will travel for approximately one hour to the Cross of the Condor viewpoint, a strategic point from which to observe the majestic flight of the Andean condor, framed by the impressive landscapes of the canyon.

On the way back to Chivay, we will make several stops at natural viewpoints to admire the valley's landscapes and visit picturesque towns such as Maca, where you can visit its colonial-era church and, if you wish, enjoy a pisco sour prepared with sancayo, a typical fruit of the area. We will also stop in the town of Yanque, renowned for maintaining its ancestral customs in the daily lives of its people.

Upon returning to Chivay, we will enjoy a lunch prepared with local products. We will then continue our journey by tourist bus to the city of Puno. Along the way, we will make stops at key points to appreciate the majestic landscapes of the Andes, such as the Mirador de los Volcanes, Patahuasi, and the Lagunillas Lagoon, perfect spots to capture memorable photographs and enjoy the serenity of the high plateau.

We are scheduled to arrive in Puno around 7:30 p.m., where a representative will be waiting to escort you to your accommodation, where you can rest and prepare to continue this wonderful journey.

DAY 08: “PUNO - UROS AND TAQUILE ISLAND TOUR”

On the eighth day of our journey, we will explore one of Puno's most valuable cultural heritage sites: the floating Uros islands. These unique islands, built entirely of totora (an aquatic plant native to Lake Titicaca), are made up of communities that have kept their traditions alive, living in harmony with their natural environment. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to learn about their lifestyle, the unique floating structure of their homes, and their artisanal skills reflected in colorful textiles and handmade decorations.

We will then continue our journey to Taquile Island, known for proudly preserving its cultural identity and for its extraordinary textile techniques, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Here, the inhabitants themselves will share with you their community organization, their ancestral weaving techniques, and their cultural expressions through music, dance, and traditional costumes.

The day will conclude with a traditional lunch on the island, where you can enjoy dishes prepared with local ingredients while enjoying a breathtaking view of Lake Titicaca. The traditional menu begins with a light appetizer, followed by a main course of grilled trout served with local accompaniments, and is completed with an infusion of traditional Andean herbs. Vegetarian options are also available for those who require them.

DAY 09: “ROUTE OF THE SUN - ARRIVAL IN CUSCO”

We will begin day nine with a transfer from Puno to the historic city of Cusco, following a route that crosses Andean landscapes and towns steeped in culture and tradition. Along the way, we will appreciate landscapes such as the Urcos Lagoon, the Huacarpay Wetlands, and the Vilcanota River, which winds along the famous Ruta del Sol (Route of the Sun), guiding us through stunning natural scenery.

Our first stop will be Pucará, a town famous for its rich ceramic heritage and its archaeological museum, which houses valuable sculptures and stone pieces from pre-Inca civilizations. We will continue ascending until we reach La Raya Pass, the highest point of the route, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Andes Mountains and the source of the Vilcanota River.

Later, we will enjoy a buffet lunch at the San Pedro restaurant, which offers an extensive selection of typical regional dishes, as well as vegetarian, meat, and fish options.

The route will then take us to the archaeological site of Raqchi, an ancient ceremonial center honoring the god Wiracocha, characterized by its imposing structures that reflect the grandeur of Inca architecture.

Before reaching our destination, we will make one last stop in Andahuaylillas to visit its Baroque church, known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas" for its impressive murals, altarpieces, and sacred art. If time permits, we will make a brief stop in Oropesa, a town famous for the creation of the traditional chuta bread, renowned for its distinctive flavor and size.

We will conclude the day with our arrival in Cusco, where we will transfer you to your accommodation. Here, you will have time to relax or, if you prefer, take advantage of the afternoon to freely explore the charms of this historic city, once the capital of the Tahuantinsuyu Empire.

DAY 10: “CUSCO - CITY TOUR”

On this new day of adventure, we will pick up from your accommodation and begin a tour of the city of Cusco and its surroundings, where we will delve into its valuable historical and cultural legacy. We will begin with a visit to Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, considered one of the most sacred and revered sites of the ancient Incas. There you will witness the impressive fusion of Inca engineering, renowned for its precision, and the colonial structures built on its foundations.

Next, we will head to the outskirts of the city to visit important archaeological sites that reflect the Inca legacy. We will begin with Sacsayhuamán, a monumental ceremonial fortress built with enormous stone blocks fitted together with astonishing precision, considered one of the masterpieces of Inca engineering.

We will continue the tour in Qenqo, a site steeped in mystery. According to various studies, it was the scene of ceremonies related to sacred figures such as the puma, a central symbol of Andean spirituality.

Afterward, we will move on to Pucapucara, known as the "red fortress" for the color its stones acquire when they reflect the sun's rays. It is presumed to have served as a defensive function or as a resting place for the Inca nobility during their travels.

Our last visit will be Tambomachay, a ceremonial site associated with the worship of water. This place stands out for its fine aqueducts and waterfalls, a testament to the sophisticated hydraulic engineering achieved by the Incas. It is believed to have been a space intended for the rest and purification of the empire's elite.

At the end of the tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel, where you can rest or continue exploring the charms of the magical city of Cusco on your own.

DAY 11: “VINICUNCA - RAINBOW MOUNTAIN”

On the eleventh day, we will explore the outskirts of Cusco with an excursion to one of Peru's most unusual landscapes: the Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca. Located at an altitude of over 5,000 meters, this natural formation is distinguished by its intense hues of red, green, yellow, and violet, the result of the accumulation of minerals over millions of years.

The adventure begins very early, between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m., with pickup from your accommodation to head to the Cusipata district. Around 7:00 a.m., we will enjoy a hearty Andean breakfast there.

Afterward, we will continue by vehicle for another 40 minutes to reach the starting point of our hike. From there, we will begin a journey of approximately two hours, ascending through landscapes of the puna and high Andean plateau, where you will be able to observe llamas, alpacas, and majestic snow-capped mountains.

Once at the Vinicunca viewpoint, you can take some time to relax, take photographs, and contemplate the stunning scenic beauty of this natural wonder of Peru.

After this moment of contemplation, we will return following the same route. Later, we'll stop in Cusipata to enjoy a typical lunch, prepared with local ingredients that reflect the region's cuisine.

Finally, we will return to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of around 5:30 p.m., thus concluding a day filled with unforgettable landscapes and unique experiences.

DAY 12: “SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS - ARRIVAL IN MACHUPICCHU”

On the twelfth day, we will begin with pickup from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. for an exciting excursion through the legendary Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will begin our tour at the Pisac archaeological park, famous for its impressive terraces and ritual buildings that dominate the valley, reflecting the remarkable ingenuity and wisdom of the Inca civilization.

We will then head to the town of Pisac, where you can browse its colorful artisan market, filled with traditional textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and other handicrafts crafted by local hands.

We will continue our journey along the Vilcanota River until we reach Urubamba, where an Andean lunch awaits us in a traditional restaurant, with a selection of dishes that highlight the authentic flavors of the region.

In the afternoon, we will visit the citadel of Ollantaytambo, an Inca construction that served both defensive and agricultural purposes and still preserves its original layout. We will stroll through its narrow cobblestone streets and observe its urban layout, which still retains the spirit of the Inca past.

Before departing for Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes), we will stop in Chinchero, a place known for its textile heritage. There, we will learn about ancient spinning and dyeing techniques using natural dyes, and we will also explore the ruins that were part of the palace of Túpac Inca Yupanqui.

From the Ollantaytambo station, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, where a representative will be waiting to escort you to your accommodation and prepare for the long-awaited visit to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu.

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the Consettur bus station, the departure point for one of Peru is most iconic sites: the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Once at the summit, we will begin a guided tour of this majestic historic sanctuary, visiting its main ceremonial structures, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the Sacred Plaza. Our guide will provide information about the profound spiritual, astronomical, and cultural significance of these archaeological sites. He will also explain how the agricultural terraces and the advanced hydraulic system work. You will observe the characteristics of these sites and the great ingenuity of the Inca culture.

At the end of the tour, we will descend by bus to Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes), where you will have free time to enjoy lunch, explore the charming streets of the town, visit the artisan market, or visit the Manuel Chávez Ballón Site Museum. You can also relax by the peaceful Urubamba River.

In the afternoon, we will transfer you to the station to take the train back to Cusco, thus culminating the unforgettable experience of this thirteenth day of the tour.

DAY 14: “PUERTO MALDONADO - COCHA CAIMÁN”

Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, recognized as the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, our local team will greet you at the airport. We will begin the experience with a short bus tour of the city, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and gradually immerse yourself in the Amazonian atmosphere.

We will then head to Puerto Capitanía to board a boat that will navigate the Madre de Dios River to our eco-lodge, located approximately 30 kilometers from the city. Along the way, you'll enjoy views of Puerto Maldonado's rural surroundings, with agricultural and livestock scenes that reflect local life. Weather permitting, you'll witness the natural beauty of flowering heliconias (tropical plants with vibrant, colorful inflorescences) and observe a wide variety of wildlife, including ronsocos, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants, and birds of prey and scavengers.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be greeted with a refreshing drink made with Amazonian tropical fruits and escorted to your private bungalow, designed to offer comfort and relaxation in the heart of the jungle. Once settled in, you'll enjoy a lunch prepared with local ingredients, served in a warm and rustic dining room.

In the afternoon, accompanied by an expert guide, you'll set off on a marked interpretive trail that will take you to Cocha Caimán, a tranquil lagoon home to the black and white caimans, emblematic predators of the Amazonian ecosystem.

DAY 15: “LAKE APU VICTOR AMAZONIA”

On day fifteen, we'll start the morning with an energizing breakfast, perfect for preparing for a day full of adventures in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. During this time, you'll be able to enjoy the morning songs of various birds and the distinctive sound of the howler monkey, announcing the beginning of a new day in nature.

After breakfast, we will begin a hike along well-defined trails that will lead us through different types of Amazonian ecosystems: from riparian forests to highland forests, passing through floodplains and hills covered with lush vegetation. This route offers an excellent opportunity to observe the region's surprising biodiversity.

Along the way, we will learn to identify trees of great ecological and cultural value, such as aguaje, mahogany, Brazil nut, copaiba, and shihuahuaco, among others, traditionally used by local communities in both medicine and construction. We will also learn about the diversity of local insects, such as butterflies, beetles, centipedes, and ants, essential to the balance of the ecosystem.

The hike will take us to Lake Apu Víctor, a beautiful lagoon nestled among swamps and tall trees that define the Amazonian landscape. From the elevated lookout point, you can enjoy an incomparable panoramic view of the jungle while observing colorful species such as macaws, toucans, parrots, and elegant herons roaming free.

Upon returning to the lodge, you will enjoy a lunch prepared with local products, perfect for refueling after your exploration.

In the afternoon, we will take a boat to Monkey Island, located in the middle of the Madre de Dios River. This natural environment acts as a true refuge for wildlife, home to various species of monkeys such as the maquisapa, the capuchin, and the lion's puffin. You can also spot small mammals such as the coati and enjoy the flight of numerous tropical birds, easily recognizable by their intense and striking colors.

To close the day, we will delight in a magical Amazonian sunset, a natural spectacle that transforms the sky into a palette of vivid colors.

Back at the lodge, a special farewell dinner awaits us, carefully prepared to round off this unforgettable experience in the heart of the Peruvian jungle.
